Picture
New England Fowler
Likely built in the fourth quarter of the 18th Century, this cherry stocked New England fowler follows similar lines to those made by Thomas Earle and Phineas Sawyer. Much plainer in ornamentation, there is a raised carved "thumbnail" panel around the barrel tang, and a 44.25" round barrel with filed decoration at the breech. The beautifully filed triggerguard has no engraving, nor does the buttplate, whose profile and size is similar to much fancier guns of the region. All of the brass hardware has small casting voids, speaking to the utilitarian nature of this fowler in New England. The steel ramrod appears original, and the stock was built with a thin nose cap set back to accept a bayonet, indicating period militia use.  The lock is an in-use replacement, likely changed when converted to percussion.  More photos available by email.

Fowler Guard
Picture
English, "Vallee" SxS Percussion 20ga shotgun, with engraved back action locks and large bow triggerguard. Barrels are twisted damascus, 31 3/4" long (including breech), with a solid rib and no breaks in the solder lines. This is a very well-kept shotgun, likely dating to the 1860s.  The hardware is engraved throughout with bold export-style designs. The insides of the locks are bright, with crisp actions. The walnut stock has a smooth satin oil finish, and checkering in the wrist.  Additional photos available via email.  Price: $500

Lehigh Valley flintlock Rifle
John Moll style Lehigh Valley Rifle.  This is one of my earlier rifles that I built for myself, with all parts inlet entirely by hand. The buttplate, guard, and patchbox are modified castings, but all other parts were handmade by me. It has a .45 caliber, 44" Colerain rifled barrel, 1" at the breech, which gives the rifle a modest weight around 8.5lbs with a trigger pull of 13.75".The whole rifle has a slight patina finish, but has no pits, gouges, or large scratches - just some small dings associated with careful use.  SOLD

Early Colonial Flintlock Rifle
Early Colonial Rifle.  This early Virginia style rifle has a 40.5" .58 caliber barrel, heavily modified and tuned Davis lock, and custom brass hardware.  The triggerpull is 13.75" with a trigger tuned for light crisp let off.   With a distressed finish, this colonial rifle has the full appearance of a well-cared for antique.
