Based on a French pistol by Pierre Coignet, made in the 1760s, this has a thin walled .54 caliber smooth barrel, and is loaded with French details. The Queen Anne pistol lock has been cosmetically altered to appear more French in styling. The triggerguard, buttcap, sideplate, and thimbles were all made in shop. Note the offset ramrod pipe – a feature commonly found on original pistols in order to clear the large mainspring.
